James Andreassi, a man that very few people know or would recognize the name. James is defiantly not worldly remount or famous in any aspect. However James is one the people that go about life doing the little or minor things that nobody notices that have a large impact on many peoples lives. James is kind of famous where I live not because he lives around here or anything, but because he usually gets the lad role at the Fulton Opera house, a prestige theater in south central PA.
James started his theater life at a young age enjoying playing with his friends and acting in theater plays through his school days. James worked his way through his schooling before hitting the theater world at full force. He quickly made a huge impact with rolls all over the United States. James did not just stick to America so showcase his talents he went over sees performing in many different counties all over the vast world we live in.
Like any performers in the theater who all have their dreams about Broadway, James was no different he just like every other one of them wanted to life that fast passed amazing Broadway life that everyone claims to be so amazing and breath taking. Many performers live the life and then lose track of their morals or why they or how they even got to where they are. Many performers become washed up, or become over thrown by the whole experience and turn to drugs or turn their life for a much worse path.
I am extremely thankful to say that James kept his head on his shoulders during his life, well all the way to this point at least. He was very fortunate and extremely lucky and didn’t get completely caught up in everything going on around him, even when he had a brief Broadway life.
However, he did contune with his proformaces, I guess as it goes the show much go on. James is well known for his performances at home in the United States, however he is also known for his traveling in China. He is the first American to appear with a Chinese theater troupe. He preformed all over the People’s Republic of China and at the Hong Kong Arts Festival in the Long Wharf Theater. James has performed at many theaters some of these theaters include; the Long Wharf Theatre, the American Repertory Theatre, the Pittsburgh Public Theatre, the Cleveland Playhouse, the Rep. of St. Louis, the Three River Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare & Co., the Merrimack Repertory Theatre, and the Pioneer Theatre Co., and most recently the Fulton Opera House. James was also on Bradway for a breife period of time he conducted most of his time at the Mint Theater, the New York Theatre Workshop, and on ABC's One Life to Live. James also is the founder and Artistic Director of The Elm Shakespeare Company in New Haven, CT. Not only has James acted in many plays but he has also directed. In the Elm Shakespeare Company he has directed Henry IV, Part 1, The Tempest, Macbeth, Othello, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, The Three Musketeers and Robin Hood. In 1993/94.
James didn’t just keep his life on the road performing theater, sure that was a big part of his life. But like many theater performers James’s heart also laid in teaching and educating the younger generations on his theater experiences and vast knowledge he had learned and gathered over his years. He has taught and lectured on acting, Shakespeare and the theatre at Yale University, Southern Connecticut State University, Quinnipiac University, the Yale Center for British Art and at the Hopkins School.
After really looking over his life and his acting life i have become to appreciate him even more than I previously did. James really was a good person. Like I stated earlier James is by far not famous or known by a lot of people but however he is known to me and many other people in this world. I believe that many people see how much of a good person James is. Not only did he perform in theater and soak up and enjoy his time spent at the peak of his career but now and he has been contounily giving back to the community and younger generations. Due to James’s constant strives towards improving communities and giving back to younger generations I wish other performers would try to be more like James because that is what I believe makes a famous theater performer.
