The last note a concluding statement

Wow is all I can really say! To think this class has and is about to end and here I am writing this looking back thinking where did all the time go? Three weeks have passed already and I now have a much much more and broader knowledge of the theater world. When signing up for this class I will be honest I just figured theater.. it will be such a joke, then I read the styluses and kind of realized James… this is not going to be a breeze and a joke like I thought. And it has not been a walk through it has been a run through. To think I just finished a course that usually takes people 14 weeks I just finished it in three.
In three short fast weeks I have concurred the world of theater and all that contains and has to offer. Not only have I learned a ton about theater but I have also learned a lot about other people’s cultures, how they act and interact and how they simply live life. Yes I have learned a ton about different aspects of theater and how it is run. Before this class I honestly thought wow theater what a bunch of losers and made fun of them I was your typical teenage jock. Now that I have took this class and under stand what these people go through and what all they do simply to get one performance completed. They really deserve an apology by my self so I am sorry, also they deserve a standing ovation. I played varsity football all through out high school and now that I am looking at it, with theater these people have to put just as much time and effort into it and it completely relates the producers and mangers are the coaches and the leading roles are the stand out performers on the field and on the stage. Then the lead performers are surrounded by a supporting cast all so known as the team.
After reading the text and taking the quizzes and really thinking about theater wow it is ALL around us every where we look and every where we go theater is and always will be there. I always thought theater as actors and people running around dancing, memorizing lines and they’re the main stars. But what I did not realize is, it goes a lot deeper than and there are so many more things that goes in to it and there is so much more than just that.
To do theater or see it we don’t have to go to a actual theater or school play all we have to do is act something out or take pride in what we are doing. It can be as little as messing around with friends and having a somewhat wild imagination. Or it can be as big as a 5 star out of this work amazing Broadway showing. A small example that is really stupid but I do it all the time is just having fun and making games or imaginging thigns to create a situation where your working and no having fun and turning it into something completely different and out of the ordinary. , I am a landscaper but I was working on something by my self and instead of just sitting there and picking weeds out of the ground I was round up man. I pretended I was in the wild Wild West back in the olden days and my round up weed killer was my gun. I walked around and shot the entire weeds saw essentially killing them and becoming the bad guy. I walked around contounsisly look for more weeds to shoot and kill. As stupid as that may sound it helped pass time and at the time yea I though wow this is really stupid I hope no one is watching. But now looking back what I didn’t realize is I was in my mind performing a theater performance, the stage was a backyard and I was the main character playing a wild west cop solving crime finding and killing the bad guys.
This is just one example in my everyday life where I used theater to kind of spice things up and have fun. This just goes to show you that even the people that hate or hated theater they selfs are actial actors and artisans.
This class has made myself heavily appreciate the theater world and art world entirely. Going to a play really helped me do that by opening my eyes to the world and really seeing what all goes into a production. This class has made a huge impact on my life and my views of things in general!
